Kidnapped Pupils of Apostolic Faith School in Ekiti Freed After Six Days

Six days after they were abducted by gunmen, the pupils of Apostolic Faith Nursery and Primary School in Emure Ekiti have been released.

The pupils and the other abductees, including a head teacher, were freed on Sunday morning according to reports gathered by Parallel Facts.

The abduction of the pupils occurred on Monday, when they were travelling from Emure to Eporo Ekiti in their school bus. A video obtained by Parallel Facts showed the bus being intercepted by the armed men, who forced the occupants out and took them away.

The incident sparked fear and outrage among the residents of Emure, who called on the security agencies to rescue the victims and restore peace in the area.

The kidnapping came on the heels of another violent attack in the state, where two traditional rulers were killed by suspected terrorists on Saturday.
