The two wives of the Chairman of Kiyawa Local Government Council in Jigawa State, who were kidnapped by unidentified gunmen, have been safely released.
The news of their release was confirmed by police spokesman DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam in an official statement on Tuesday night.
The wives were kidnapped in a shocking incident on Friday night and have now been reunited with their freedom, following their release by their captors at Ningi LGA in Bauchi State.

The police spokesman refrained from disclosing whether a ransom was paid prior to the release of the two women.
However, Daily Post reports that a family source confirmed that a ransom was indeed paid before their release.
