Suspected kidnappers abducted about four people around Emecourt Road Junction, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State on Thursday.
It was gathered that the armed men, alighted from their vehicle, stopped a yet-to-be-identified lady who was driving in a Sports Utility Vehicle around the area, forced her out of her car, bundled her into the back of her vehicle, together with three other persons and immediately zoomed off.
Eyewitnesses near the scene said the suspected kidnappers operating in a Mercedes Benz Sports Utility Vehicle, had stopped at Emecourt Road Junction when they noticed that their vehicle had developed a fault.

One of the eyewitnesses said, “The armed men abandoned their vehicle when they saw that it had developed a fault and stopped a lady who was also driving an Highlander. They forced the lady to the back seat.
“They brought out their victims from their faulty vehicle and transfered them, together with the lady to the Highlander Toyota snatched from the lady.
“But one of the victims, a man, who was blindfolded, removed the blindfold and escaped into a nearby local market while his abductors hurriedly zoomed off with other victims with the Highlander vehicle.
“The incident created panic in the area and around the nearby market as the hoodlums who operated with quick speed had left before the security operatives, including local vigilance group and police, arrived the scene.”
But when contacted, the Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the incident had not been reported to him, saying that he would make enquiries and get back. #Anambra State
