Kidnappers Kill One in Ekiti as Police Rescue 4 Victims

Four individuals who were abducted along the Isan-Iludun Ekiti road in the Ilejemeje local government area over the weekend have been successfully rescued.

Tragically, the suspected kidnappers killed 22-year-old Oguntuase Idowu during the incident, marking him as the fifth victim.

Reports indicate that the attack occurred on the Isan-Iye Ekiti road, where unknown gunmen shot and killed the driver of the Ekiti State Commissioner for Local Government before abducting four others.

DSP Sunday Abutu, the spokesperson for the Ekiti State Police Command, confirmed the rescue of the kidnapped individuals and stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators.

In a recent plenary session, Hon. Princess Iyabo Okieimen-Fakunle, the lawmaker representing Ilejemeje Constituency, brought attention to the tragic events that unfolded on Sunday, September 22, highlighting the loss of life and the abduction of five individuals by kidnappers.

Speaker Adeoye Aribasoye and other lawmakers expressed their condolences regarding the death of the promising young man, Idowu Oguntuase.
