Rapper Killer Mike, also known as Michael Render, found himself in police custody on Sunday night shortly after achieving a triumphant victory with three Grammy awards.
The arrest unfolded just after 4 p.m. PT when Render was detained and handcuffed by law enforcement. The incident occurred at the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court, in close proximity to the Crypto.com Arena where the Grammys ceremony took place, according to ABC News.
Render was taken into custody over allegations of involvement in a physical altercation. Following his detainment, he was transported to Central Division and booked on a misdemeanour battery charge.

Authorities confirmed on Sunday night that Render was in the process of being released. Despite the unfolding events, a representative for the artist did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.
The 48-year-old rapper had earlier clinched three Grammy awards during the pre-televised portion of the ceremony: Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for his track “Scientists & Engineers,” and Best Rap Album for “Michael.”
