In a surprising turn of events, the All Progressives Congress’ Deputy Governorship Candidate in Kogi State, Chief Edward David Onoja, lost his local government, Olamaboro, to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the gubernatorial poll.
The APC secured 5,572 votes, while the SDP garnered a substantial 22,173 votes, according to the results signed by Ogbufa Chukwudi, the collation officer of Olamaboro Local Government.
This defeat for Onoja follows an earlier report of losing his own polling unit to the SDP. Meanwhile, Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) managed to secure 1,376 votes in the contested local government.
The total votes cast in Olamaboro were recorded at 30,226, with 29,731 rejected votes and 495 deemed invalid.
