Kogi Gov Appoints Ali Bello, Accused of N3bn Fraud by EFCC, as New Chief of Staff

The new Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, has declared the appointment of Ali Bello as Chief of Staff, a figure who has faced legal action by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged involvement in a N3 billion fraud, resulting in his remand in prison.

It has been revealed that Ali Bello is the nephew of the former governor Yahaya Bello, hailing from the Central Senatorial District.

Report shows that in February 8, 2023, the EFCC formally arraigned Ali Bello before Justice Obiora Egwuatu at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

“The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, arraigned one Ali Bello, a nephew of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, before Justice Obiora Egwuatu of a Federal High Court Abuja,” EFCC stated.
