Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, has promised to drastically cut the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) vote total in Kano State in the 2027 elections.
Kwankwaso made this declaration in his Kano home while hosting senior special advisers and former council members from the previous administration.
Kwankwaso was able to present his future intentions at the meeting, which was attended by stakeholders from the Tsanyawa Local Government Area as well.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) struggled to garner barely 15,000 votes in Kano during the 2023 elections, but the former governor praised his team’s hard work. He pointed out that despite being a new party, his party, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), accomplished this outstanding performance.
“Now, it’s our turn to diminish APC’s influence. We will work tirelessly to ensure their votes are reduced to less than 15,000 in Kano come 2027,” Kwankwaso said.
Kwankwaso, therefore, called for dedication and grassroots mobilization to solidify the NNPP’s position as a dominant political force in Kano and beyond. He encouraged his supporters to remain focused on delivering results that would secure the party’s success in future elections.
