Four KWASU Students Arrested for Fatally Beating Peer to Death

Authorities have confirmed the arrest of four students from Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, in Moro local government area of the state, for their involvement in the fatal assault of a fellow student.

According to reliable sources, the incident occurred last week in a private hostel outside the university premises, although the arrests were made on Wednesday.

Reports indicate that the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed at this time, was assaulted after allegedly recording the four suspects without their consent.

It was reported that the victim was filming the four students engaged in a discussion when he was spotted by one of them. Subsequently, the suspects confronted him regarding his actions, to which he allegedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation. Enraged by his response, the four students then attacked him.”

A student who craved anonymity said, “The victim later died from the severity of the beating meted out to him by the students.”

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations officer, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi (DSP), confirmed the incident to our reporter late Thursday night.

According to her, “The alleged culprits were four, but I cannot confirm their names now. They have been arrested while an investigation is still ongoing over the matter,” she said.
