In a surprising turn of events, the Labour Party secured the highest number of votes in the Bogoro councillorship election held in Lusa B Ward of Bogoro Local Government Area, Bauchi State, despite not fielding a candidate.
Announcing the results at the collation centre in Bogoro, the returning officer, Daniel Gambo, revealed that the Labour Party garnered 2,200 votes.
However, since the party did not have a candidate in the race, the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) declared Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner.
Yusuf, who came in second place, secured 2,168 votes, making her the newly elected councillor representing Lusa B Ward.
