The Federal Government of Nigeria and Organised Labour have reached a crucial agreement following the one-day nationwide strike.
A meeting was held today in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, which aimed to address the labour unions’ demands and end the strike. After extensive discussions, several key resolutions were reached and documented in a public agreement signed by both parties.
A significant part of the agreement was the FG’s commitment to a National Minimum Wage higher than the earlier proposed N60,000.
To finalize an agreeable National Minimum Wage, a Tripartite Committee will meet daily for the next week.
