Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State, has described the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa, as symptom of deeper political struggles within the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a strongly worded tweet on X, Rhodes-Vivour slams Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s family for what he described as their monopolistic control over Lagos politics.
He suggested that the recent actions of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against APC figures in Lagos are not a coincidence, linking the investigations to the gubernatorial ambitions of several individuals within the party.
Rhodes-Vivour argued that the EFCC’s sudden focus on alleged corruption among Lagos APC politicians reveals the tight grip of the Tinubu political dynasty, which, according to him, is determined to stifle any potential challenges to its dominance.

However, he accused Tinubu of treating Lagos as his personal property, intended to be inherited by his descendants.
He claimed that the political ambitions of Lagos APC members are often subordinated to the interests of the Tinubu family, undermining the broader aspirations of Lagos residents.
“Lagos is bigger than him, and we must remind him that Lagos is not his to bequeath,” he asserted, calling for a united effort to resist what he called political control and subjugation.
