Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, recently addressed the issue of Lagos being overpopulated, stating that residents from Ibadan must return to their hometowns.
In the viral clip on X, Portable described Lagos as overpopulated and suggested that people from Ibadan should return to their hometown, claiming that Ibadan is not comparable to London.
His comments have since ignited heated debates online, with many accusing the singer of promoting tribalism and discrimination.
Portable, known for his unfiltered statements, lamented the strain on Lagos resources, which he attributed to the influx of non-indigenous residents.
He specifically targeted individuals from Ibadan, asserting that their migration to Lagos was unnecessary and burdensome. “Lagos is overpopulated. Ibadan no be London. Ibadan people must leave Lagos,” he said.
