Lagos Police Command Meets Stakeholders Over Bus Drivers’ Protest

The Lagos State Police Command has concluded a crucial stakeholders’ meeting over the scheduled public transport drivers’ protest on Monday, November 13, 2023.

The gathering featured prominent representatives, including the Police Command, the Lagos State Government, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

During this meeting, the attendees addressed the concerns and issues raised by the public transport drivers.

Following extensive discussions, the stakeholders reached a consensus to collaborate in enforcing traffic laws and monitoring the conduct of law enforcement officers within the state.

Moreover, the NURTW has committed to a larger meeting scheduled for Monday, November 13, 2023.

The attendees at the meeting included key figures such as Deputy Commissioners of Police Waheed Ayilara (SCID), Fatai Tijani (Operations), Khan Salihu (Administration), Commander Rapid Response Squad (RRS) CSP Yinka Egbeyemi, Commander Taskforce CSP Shola Jejeloye, as well as prominent individuals like Honourable Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Mr. Bolaji Oreagba, the General Manager of LASTMA, and delegates from the NURTW Lagos Chapter, led by Alhaji Sulyman Ojora (Kudeti), among others.

The Lagos State Police Command wishes to reassure the citizens of Lagos that it has taken adequate measures to prioritize their safety and security. The Command encourages residents to continue their lawful activities without any apprehension of harassment or intimidation.
