In a comprehensive early morning initiative today, the Lagos State Taskforce executed a raid in Oshodi and its surrounding areas to address reported illicit activities carried out by hoodlums, causing concern among residents and commuters.
The operation, extending for more than three hours, was spearheaded by CSP Shola Jejeloye, the Chairman of the Agency.
Encountering obstacles during the operation, the task force confronted suspected miscreants attempting to evade arrest.
Despite the challenges, the agency’s persistence prevailed, resulting in the apprehension of individuals involved in various criminal activities.
Chairman Jejeloye expressed apprehension about the discovery of dangerous weapons and suspected narcotics, believed to be cannabis, found in the possession of the arrested suspects.
He remarked, “We confiscated hazardous weapons and suspected hard drugs from these alleged miscreants during the sweep across Bolade Junction, Mosafejo, Oshodi Bridge, Oshodi Under Bridge, Brown Street, Railway Track, and the BRT Corridors.
“One of the suspects even inflicted injuries on one of our officers while resisting arrest, attempting to flee, but he was captured before making his escape.”
The raid encompassed key locations such as Bolade Junction, Mosafejo, Oshodi Bridge, Oshodi Under Bridge, Brown Street, Railway Track, and the BRT Corridors, highlighting the extensive scope of the operation.
CSP Jejeloye underscored that despite the evasive behavior of the suspects, the task force effectively executed the operation.
He emphasized that these security operations are integral to the agency’s scheduled initiatives for 2024, designed to enhance the confidence of Lagosians and ensure a secure environment.
Jejeloye stated, “Residents of the State should be able to conduct their business at any time of the day without fear.”
