Reports from POLITICS NIGERIA indicate that both lawmakers arrived early, drawing an increasing crowd of supporters who carried banners and placards. The demonstrators voiced their support for the Governor through chants and slogans.

Many expressed apprehensions that Fubara was facing unfair targeting due to his independent leadership, resisting external pressures. This show of solidarity comes amid a strained relationship between Fubara and his predecessor, Governor Nyesom Wike.

It is noteworthy that 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Additionally, a number of Fubara’s cabinet members have submitted their resignations amidst the ongoing developments.
