Legalise cannabis — Singer BNXN Urges Tinubu’s Government

Afrobeats singer Daniel Benson, popularly known as BNXN, has called on the Nigerian government to legalize Loud, a potent synthetic strain of cannabis widely used among Nigerian youths.

Despite its popularity, Loud remains illegal in Nigeria, with those caught in possession facing potential jail sentences.

BNXN made the appeal through his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, where he posted, “Make dem legalize loud for this side o.”

This call comes amid growing concerns about drug use among youths.

Recently, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, criticized rising singer Ayo Maff for boasting about using Canadian Loud in his song “Last Week.”

Hundeyin noted that drug use is a significant factor in youth incarceration, emphasising that many young people in prison would not be there if not for their involvement with drugs.
