The youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), operating under the banner of PDP Youth Frontier, has called upon Chief Bola Tinubu to address the prevailing economic challenges gripping Nigeria.
In a statement released on Saturday and signed by National Coordinator Usman Okai Austin, the group directed their appeal towards Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the APC.
The statement drew parallels between Tinubu’s approach and that of former President Muhammadu Buhari, asserting that both leaders resorted to blaming their predecessors for the nation’s woes instead of implementing effective solutions. The group urged Tinubu to seek counsel from experienced statesmen such as former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan to chart a more constructive path forward.
Highlighting the urgency of the situation, the PDP Youth Frontier emphasized the need for leadership capable of navigating Nigeria towards economic recovery amidst the current hardships. They expressed dissatisfaction with Tinubu’s perceived failure in this regard, suggesting that his policies have exacerbated the struggles faced by Nigerians.
Regarding Tinubu’s purported contributions to the development of Lagos, the PDP Youth Frontier argued that his achievements have been overstated. They attributed much of Lagos’s progress to its inherent advantages, including its former status as the Federal Capital Territory.
Criticizing the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the statement accused the party of lacking a comprehensive understanding of Nigeria’s multifaceted challenges. The PDP youth group highlighted the adverse effects of economic hardships on the populace, including increased school dropouts and soaring prices of essential goods and services.

“In the midst of economic and insecurity crises, the administration appears confused,” the statement remarked, indicating a perceived lack of direction in addressing the nation’s pressing issues. The group held Tinubu accountable for what they deemed to be failures in economic management, urging him to assume responsibility rather than resorting to blame games.
With the populace enduring significant hardships, the PDP Youth Frontier concluded that the APC government, represented by Tinubu, does not offer a viable solution to Nigeria’s problems. They emphasized the need for effective leadership capable of alleviating the suffering of the Nigerian people.
