The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the final shortlist for the 2023/2024 CAF Player of the Year award, featuring Nigerian players Ademola Lookman and Victor Boniface, alongside Moroccan Brahim Diaz.
Lookman, who plays for Atalanta, had a stellar season, helping his team to victory in the UEFA Europa League and earning the title of the club’s Player of the Year.
Boniface, who plays for Bayer Leverkusen, was pivotal in his club’s successful campaigns in the Bundesliga, German Cup, and German Super Cup, as well as making important contributions to the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.
Rounding off the trio is Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, who played a vital role in his club’s successes in La Liga, the UEFA Champions League, and the Spanish Super Cup.
The winner of the CAF Player of the Year award will be revealed at a ceremony in Marrakesh.
