In a recent development at the Anambra House of Assembly, Justice Azuka of the Labour Party (LP) has been sworn in as the new representative for Onitsha North Constituency I, replacing Douglas Egbuna of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Egbuna was removed from office following a court verdict upheld by the Election Petition Appeal Court in Awka on November 25.
The court affirmed the Anambra State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to annul Egbuna’s victory in the March 18 election and declared Azuka as the rightful winner.
During the assembly’s session on Tuesday, Speaker Somtochukwu Udeze officiated the swearing-in of Justice Azuka while also addressing other crucial matters.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo submitted a letter seeking approval for a N2 billion loan, intended to be disbursed as palliatives following the removal of fuel subsidies.
