Alhaji Yusuf Asamah Kadiri, the Labour Party (LP) Deputy Governor in Edo State, has raised allegations of vote buying at his polling unit during the ongoing elections.
Yusuf claimed that members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were at his polling unit distributing N10,000 to voters in exchange for their votes.
In a video interview clip posted on X, he said the incident occurred before his arrival at the location. “They were fully here, but by the time I came, I didn’t meet that going on,” Yusuf said.
He explained that the vote buying mechanism was widespread at the unit, adding that his agents had witnessed the act.
“They give you, you go there, you vote, you show them, they give you. It was happening over here. You can interview the agent,” he noted, pointing to his representative present at the scene.

He further revealed that he had been informed of similar incidents happening at other polling units. “Just about five minutes ago, somebody called me from another polling unit about the same issue,” he said, indicating that the vote buying practice was not isolated but rather a coordinated effort across multiple voting locations.
He, however, urged voters to vote according to their conscience, despite the alleged attempts to sway them with money.
He expressed confidence in his party’s campaign and platform, stating that LP had presented a clear mission to the electorate.
