BREAKING: Labour Party Drops Election Petition Against Fubara, Pledges Support for Progress

The Labour Party (LP) has officially withdrawn its petition challenging the election of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2023 polls.

This move comes on the heels of talks that began between LP’s 2023 governorship candidate, Beatrice Itubo, and Governor Fubara four days ago, amid the political turbulence gripping Rivers State.

“I met with the Governor, and discussion is still in progress,” revealed Itubo four days ago, hinting at the behind-the-scenes negotiations.

Itubo refrained from confirming whether she would be crossing party lines or merely extending support to he’s administration from within the LP.

This collaboration signifies that LP, initially a contender, now extends a hand of cooperation.

Itubo, not only withdrew the petition but also pledged support for Fubara’s government, citing a common goal for the progress of Rivers State.
