LP Lawmaker Denies Receiving Tinubu’s Palliative

Senator Okechukwu Ezea, who represents Enugu North under the Labour Party, has refuted claims that he received any form of palliative, whether food or financial, from Bola Tinubu for his constituents.

This denial comes in the wake of media speculation suggesting that lawmakers were recipients of such government aid packages.

In a statement issued on Monday, Senator Ezea clarified, “I want to categorically state that I have not received any material palliative, neither money nor food items, from the federal government for my constituents.” He further committed to distributing any such aid transparently, in accordance with his “principle of equity and fairness.”

The statement also highlighted that, recognizing the significant hardship his constituents are facing, Senator Ezea has personally funded the distribution of bags of rice across the 102 wards of his district in the new year. The statement confirmed that the distribution at the local government level has been completed, and the process of distributing the items to the beneficiaries at the ward level is currently underway.
