Labour Party Dismisses Purported Timetable for Edo Governorship Primaries

Edo

The Edo State chapter of the Labour Party has refuted the authenticity of a document circulating online titled “Guidelines and Timetable for Edo State Governorship Primaries.”

The document, allegedly signed by Dr. Abayomi Arabambi, claimed to outline the party’s internal election process for selecting its 2024 gubernatorial candidate.

In a press release issued on Friday, the Edo Labour Party’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Sam Uroupa, vehemently condemned the forgery.

Uroupa clarified that neither the national secretariat of the party nor any authorized official has published any official guidelines or timetable for the upcoming primaries.

Uroupa stated, “Dr. Abayomi Arabambi is not a member of the Labour Party, nor does he hold any official position within the party.

“Therefore, he has no authority to make pronouncements on our behalf, especially regarding internal party matters.”

He further emphasized that the party maintains established communication channels with its national secretariat.

He assured party members and the public that any genuine information regarding the primaries would be disseminated through these official channels exclusively.

“We urge all governorship aspirants, party members, and the general public to disregard the fake document attributed to Dr. Arabambi.

“The official guidelines and timetable for the Edo State governorship primaries will be communicated once released by the national secretariat of the Labour Party,” Uroupa assured.
