In preparation for the February 3rd, 2024 Bye-Elections, the National Working Committee of the Labour Party has announced the schedule and fees for nomination forms.
Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, the National Secretary of the Labour Party, stated that, Nomination, Expression of Interest, and Delegate Forms will be available for purchase from December 28th, 2023, to January 4th, 2024, with the submission deadline set for January 4th, 2024. Primary Elections are slated for January 7th, 2024.
Nomination fees for various positions include Senate – N3.5m, House of Representatives – N2m, and House of Assembly – N500k. Expression of Interest fees are Senate – N1.5m, House of Representatives – N1m, and House of Assembly – N1m.
Female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD) seeking Expression of Interest Forms are exempt from payment.
The Labour Party disassociates itself from a fake timetable circulated by expelled former members attempting to defraud individuals.

The party warns against fraudulent tactics and clarifies that forms can only be obtained from the National Headquarters in Abuja.
In response to reported attacks on leaders and aspirants in the Edo governorship polls by expelled individuals, the party advises aspirants to remain focused and ignore disruptions.
The statement signed by Obiora Ifoh, national publicity secretary, urges aspirants to disregard these “falling villains” and warns them to seek an alternate platform for their activities.
”We assure our aspirants to disregard their nuisance value and focus on the project before them.
”We also warn these falling villains to seek for alternate platform to vend their trade as Nigerians are already aware of their shameful gimmick which has since expired,” he added.
