Man Arrested For Crashing Car Into Buckingham Palace Gates

Buckingham Palace

Over the weekend, a man was apprehended by the Metropolitan Police after he crashed a car into the gates of Buckingham Palace at 02:30 GMT on Saturday.

The incident led to the suspect’s arrest on charges of criminal damage, and he was subsequently taken to the hospital. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Security measures at Buckingham Palace, the official residence of the British royal family, are known for their strictness, with constant monitoring by armed officers.

The police spokesperson stated that inquiries were ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

This is not the first security incident at the palace, as previous break-in attempts have occurred. Last September, a 25-year-old man was arrested for attempting to enter the royal stables.

In a separate incident last May, a 43-year-old man was arrested for ramming his car into the gates of Downing Street, the official residence of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
