In a disturbing case presented at the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, a 28-year-old man, Agboola Adebayo, was remanded in a correctional center for the sexual assault of a 9-month-old baby.
The Lagos State government filed a two-count charge against Adebayo, accusing him of defilement and causing grievous harm to the infant.
The defendant, whose residential address was undisclosed, pleaded guilty to the charges.

Justice Rahman Oshodi ordered Adebayo’s remand in the correctional facility, scheduling the case for hearing on March 25.
The state counsel, Ms Bukola Okeowo, revealed that the appalling incident occurred on March 23, 2023, in the White Sand Area of Ijora, Badiya, Lagos.
Adebayo is now at risk of life imprisonment under the Criminal Laws of Lagos State (2015).
