Ian Langley, 54, a dog walker from Sunderland, has been identified as the man who was killed after being mauled while ‘trying to rescue his puppy from an XL bully’ last night.
According to reports, on the Shiney Row estate yesterday night, a gigantic, soon-to-be-banned XL Bully breed attacked Mr. Langley, a native of Liverpool, and seized him by the neck as he knelt down to pick up his Patterdale terrier puppy.
Mr. Langley was attacked and required CPR for about 15 minutes while medical personnel battled to stop heavy bleeding from his wounds. Tragically, he died from his injuries.
The dog’s 44-year-old owner has reportedly been detained, and a murder investigation has been opened, according to the police.
