The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has said that one Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau who climbed a broadcast mast in attempt to take his own life will be charged to court if found guilty of attempted suicide.
Recall that on Monday, a yet-to-be-identified man climbed a broadcast mast on Katampe Hill in Abuja, threatening to jump unless his demands for the restoration of fuel subsidies and an end to insecurity are met.
However, the man later identified as Shuaibu Yushau will be facing a court trial for attempted suicide.
The Spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh made this known in a statement on Tuesday.
“We have arrested Shuaibu Yushau, the man who climbed a broadcast mast yesterday to the Social Development Secretariat for mental evaluation.

“If found mentally stable after the test, he will be charged to court for attempted suicide, disturbance of public peace and incitement.
“His offence are contrary to section 231, 113 and 114 of the penal code act,”Josephine said in the statement.
Josephine further disclosed that the FCT Command arrested Yushau following a distress call from concerned citizens about a young man who climbed a very high mast at ASO Radio in Katampe at about 09:10am.
Yushau was paraded together with the suicide note he left behind before the suicide attempt.
