The lifeless body of a young man, aged between 20 and 25, was discovered on a refuse dump in Makurdi, the capital of Benue state.
The victim, bearing signs of brutalization pointing to a suspected cult clash, was found near Iorpuu Adai Street, Nyiman Layout, HUDCO quarters.
His hands were tied behind his back, and he was missing one ear. The perpetrators callously placed his body in a sack before dumping it on the refuse heap.
The shocking find was made by worshippers on their way to the morning service on Sunday.
As of now, the police have not been informed of the incident, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death are yet to commence.
