JUST IN: Again, Many Injured As Fully Loaded BRT Bus Falls in Lagos

A fully loaded high-capacity Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus overturned in the dedicated BRT lane at Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, injuring 10 passengers.

According to an update from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the accident happened shortly after the bus left the BRT park at Iyana Ipaja.

In a post on X, the agency reported that the bus collided with an abandoned pedestrian bridge structure immediately after the Iyana Ipaja bridge, causing it to tip over onto its side.

Authorities have confirmed that all 10 injured passengers have received the necessary medical care.

LASTMA officials quickly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and ensure the victims were attended to promptly.

The accident has significantly disrupted traffic in the area, and efforts are ongoing to clear the lane and restore normal traffic flow.

Motorists and commuters are advised to exercise caution and follow traffic directives as authorities work to resolve the situation.
