NDLEA Scraps Requirement For Married Women to Present Approval Letters From Husbands Before Traveling Out

Femi Babafemi, Director Media Advocacy of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has cleared the air about married women obtaining approval letter from their husbands before being issued a visa.

Earlier Thursday, NDLEA announced the introduction of a controversial requirement for married women seeking visas.

According to the agency, women must present a letter of approval from their husbands before being cleared for travel.

The NDLEA’s updated visa requirements sparked myriads of derogatory comments from Nigerians on X.

However, in what seems like a turn of event, the supposed requirement has been scrapped off.

The development was made known in a public announcement on X by the agency’s director, Babafemi.
