Martin Odegaard Signs a New Five-Year Deal with Arsenal

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has signed a new five-year deal with the club. He will remain at the North London Club until 2028. Odegaard moved permanently to Arsenal from Real Madrid in August 2021 for a fee of €35 million after being on loan since January of the same year.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who has scored 27 goals and made 15 assists in his 112 appearances for Arsenal. He was named captain last summer after Alexandre Lacazette’s departure.

The new deal was imminent after many media outlets reported how talks were underway to ensure that the Norwegian follows in the footsteps of teammates William Saliba, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli, who also extended their contracts.

Odegaard gave his remark on the positive momentum of the club, finishing second in the Premier League last season and starting off the current season on such great footing with four wins and a draw, which puts them in 4th position with just 2 points behind defending champions and league leaders Manchester City.
