A UK-based Nigerian medical doctor, known as @OurFavOnlineDoc on X, has raised further questions about the autopsy to have been submitted by the Nigeria Police Force, which revealed the alleged cause of death of one Erasmus Emhenya, whose mother lamented his gruesome death allegedly carried out by NPF operatives on a radio programme recently in Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force denied the allegations of complicity in the reported murder of Erasmus, who died while in custody.
In a viral video featuring his grieving mother on Human Rights Radio, a platform dedicated to addressing human rights and justice issues involving individuals, corporate organizations, and government entities, Erasmus’ mother recounted the hostile treatment her family received from officers at a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Divisional Station following the mysterious death of her son in custody.
Erasmus was alleged to have been tortured to death, but the FCT police denied the accusation, inviting interested parties to review the autopsy report that determined the cause of his death.

Given the gravity of the case, Police spokesperson ACP Muyiwa Adejobi provided further details, including information about the deceased, the reason for his detention, and the cause of his death.
At 2:46 am on Friday, Adejobi described the case as “an old one” that has been resolved. “The FCT command handled the case. The autopsy report cleared the air on this,” he noted.
However, a medical doctor on X, @OurFavOnlineDoc, opined that there was a mix-up considering the police autopsy results and what the mother claimed killed her son.
@OurFavOnlineDoc tweeted, “According to the Police PRO here, the autopsy shows the young man died of “asphyxiation”. For those of you reading this but you are not medically trained, “Asphyxiation” means suffocation. Please walk with me.
“How does a man in police custody suddenly die of “suffocation”? What suffocated him? Nigerian police denies torture but admits that someone in their detention and under their custody died of asphyxiation and suffocation. How does this make any sense?”
