Former President Donald Trump has taken a clear stance on transgender athlete participation in women’s sports during his Republican National Convention (RNC) speech stating emphatically that men won’t play in women’s sports.
Recall that Trump formally accepted the Grand Old Party (GOP) presidential nomination on Thursday night.
Meanwhile, the final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee during his more than 90-minute speech, he addressed several policy issues, including a hot-button topic for many Americans.
“We will not have men playing in women’s sports, that will end immediately,” Trump said, drawing a loud round of applause from the crowd.
However, the topic of a ban on transgender athletes participating in women’s and girl’s sports has been one of the more hotly debated issues in American politics over the years.

In April, the Biden administration made major changes to Title IX in the unveiling of new rules aimed at safeguarding LGBTQ+ students and changing the ways in which sexual harassment and assault claims are adjudicated on campus.
But noticeably missing from those changes was any policy that would prevent schools from enacting outright bans on transgender athletes competing against women which Donald Trump just effected.
