Meta has deleted the official Facebook account of Dauda Kahutu Rarara, a prominent APC singer with over one million followers.
His account was removed on Saturday, shortly after Rarara released a song praising Tinubu for purportedly improving the lives of northerners by addressing hunger, insecurity, and poverty.
In the song, Rarara claimed that Tinubu’s leadership had made Nigeria great and significantly enhanced conditions in the north. This praise comes at a time of severe economic distress, marked by skyrocketing food prices and growing discontent among the populace.
The timing of Rarara’s song is notable as Nigeria prepares for nationwide protests set to begin on August 1.

These protests are driven by widespread frustration over economic hardship and a dramatic increase in food prices, which have surged by over 100% in recent months.
Rarara’s enthusiastic endorsement of Tinubu has sparked controversy, leading to Meta’s decision to take down his account amid a surge of reports from users.
