“A Monumental Disgrace,” Morris Monye Knocks Kwara State Govt Over Quality of Constructed Road

Prominent Nigerian social commentator and community leader, Morris Monye, has expressed strong disapproval of the quality of a road project undertaken by the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Monye labeled the project a “monumental disgrace” and called on the young leaders in Kwara State to voice their concerns.

In a post on his official X handle, Monye questioned whether the state was taking the project seriously, stating, “Is this a joke or are we playi in this country?”

His remarks came after the official handle of Kwara State shared a photo of the ongoing construction of the Township Hall Road in Igbaja, claiming that it was nearing completion and would enhance economic growth and development in the area.

Kwara state official X handle, stated,” The Construction of Township Hall Road, Igbaja by the AbdulRazaq-led Kwara State Government nears completion with the commencement of asphalt laying today.

“The project which is part of Governor @RealAARahman’s rural-urban renewal initiative, will enhance economic growth and development while also boosting local businesses and industries when completed.”

However, critics, including Monye, pointed out the poor quality of the construction based on the provided image.

They raised concerns that the road might deteriorate within a short period, deeming it the worst road project carried out by any government.
