In a tragic incident on Friday, gunmen targeted and killed Sule Gwamnati, a middle-aged man, in the Mai Katato community of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The assailants, believed to be kidnappers, then abducted Gwamnati’s wife, Blessing, leading to heightened concerns in the region.

Following the attack, Sule Gwamnati was swiftly transported to a hospital in Jos, where he succumbed to his injuries a few hours after arrival.

Kefas Mallai, Chairman of the Community Peace Observers in Bokkos, Plateau state confirmed the assault on Gwamnati’s residence and revealed that the criminals shot him twice before kidnapping his wife.

Mallai stated, “In the early hours of Friday, one Sule Gwamnati (native) was shot twice by some criminals who kidnapped his wife, Blessing Sule. The victim later died at JUTH after treatment started.”

He further reported the incident to local security agents in Bokkos, who assured the community that an investigation into the matter was underway.

Alabo Alfred, the Police spokesman, acknowledged awareness of the incident, indicating that the Command is actively involved in addressing the situation.
