MTN Nigeria subscribers are celebrating after a system glitch caused their debts to disappear from their accounts. However, the telecom operator has confirmed that the glitch is temporary and that subscribers will still have to pay their debts once the issue is rectified.
According to Nairametrics, a financial news website, the glitch affected subscribers who had borrowed credit from MTN. Some subscribers reported that their debts disappeared completely, while others reported that their debts had been reduced.
The glitch caused widespread jubilation among subscribers, many of whom took to social media to thank them for “canceling” their debts. However, an MTN official confirmed to Nairametrics that the glitch was a mistake and that subscribers will still have to pay their debts.

The official said that the company is working to fix the glitch and that subscribers will be notified once their debts have been restored to their accounts.
In the meantime, subscribers are advised to continue making payments on their debts, even if they are not currently showing on their accounts.
