Mudashiru Obasa, the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has spoken out about his recent impeachment, describing the allegations leveled against him as “fictitious and unsubstantiated.”
Addressing supporters at a welcome rally at his Joel Ogunnaike GRA residence in Ikeja on Saturday, Obasa emphasized that he was not afraid of being removed from office, but insisted that such a process should be carried out in accordance with the law.
Obasa accused the Police of conspiring in the impeachment process, claiming that the Commissioner of Police led a security operation to invade the assembly prior to the removal.
He also alleged that his homes in Agege and Ikeja were raided by over 200 policemen who locked his family inside during the incident.

Refuting claims of corruption, Obasa challenged those making the allegations to provide proof, saying, “If I am not speaker, that’s not the end of the world. If you want to claim that I am corrupt, please prove it.
“It’s possible to construct a gate, ordinary gate with N16bn? When it’s not Jericho wall,” he added.
