Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has made a surprising remark about Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
In a tweet on Monday, Bashir admitted that his perception of Obi had been influenced by his former political associates. He acknowledged that, contrary to what he had believed, Obi was “not a bad person after all.”
His statement marks a significant shift, considering his past criticisms of Obi and his alignment with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The tweet, which ended with “Sai Obi!”—a slogan commonly used by Obi’s supporters—suggests that Bashir now holds a more favorable view of the former Anambra governor.
