Sen. Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to Chief Bola Tinubu on Senate Matters, has praised Tinubu for signing the new minimum wage bill into law, which raises the minimum wage to N70,000.

He emphasized that the increased wage and the provision for a review every three years—up from the previous five-year interval—represent a significant improvement for workers’ compensation.

He stated, “with time, the people-centric governance model would turn the fortunes of this nation.”

“This shows that workers take home pay will continue to take them home under the present administration.

“Tinubu deserves the commendation of all for staying true to his promise,” he added.

He noted that the new minimum wage would better support workers. He also acknowledged the contributions of Nigerian workers to national development and encouraged continued dedication to service.

He commended the National Assembly, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House Speaker Tajudeen Abass, for their prompt action in passing the bill.
