NAF Kills Boko Haram, ISWAP Terrorists in Borno

In airstrikes in the Tumbuns, a region of Borno near Lake Chad, the Nigerian Air Force claimed to have killed many Boko Haram/Islamic States of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists on Monday.

According to a statement from NAF spokesman Edward Gabkwet, the airstrikes destroyed the terrorists’ facilities, critical supply bases, and hiding places in the area. Following confirmation of the terrorists’ operations, which threatened military formations and law-abiding Nigerians living in the target areas, Tumbun Fulani and Tumbun Shitu were attacked between September 27 and 30, according to an air force statement.

Terrorists were seen putting jerricans in two gun trucks that were hidden by bushes at Tumbun Fulani. NAF planes were then dispatched to intercept the area, which was thought to be a significant supply base.

The NAF claims that following the attack, a battle damage assessment showed that several terrorists had been killed and their gun trucks had been destroyed. Similar operations were carried out at Tumbun Shitu after buildings thought to be terrorist hideouts were spotted hidden away among dense vegetation, according to the statement. A strike soon followed as it was discovered that gun trucks with terrorists were sighted moving into the location.
