The naira continued its decline against the dollar, closing the week on a negative note.
According to FMDQ data, the exchange rate weakened to N1609.29 per dollar on Friday, down from N1603.80 on Thursday, marking a loss of N5.49.
Similarly, in the black market, the naira depreciated to N1,595 per dollar on Friday, compared to N1,590 the previous day.
This indicates a negative trend for the naira throughout the week.

The last appreciation of the naira against the dollar occurred last week when the Central Bank of Nigeria intervened by selling $106.5 million in foreign exchange to authorized dealers.
