As Nigerians prepare for the nationwide #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest, a lingering question echoes through the corridors of power: why are they afraid? What drives the fear that grips those who hold the reins of society, as they witness the unrelenting tide of dissent?
The answer lies not in the protest itself, but in the seismic shift it represents.
Those in power fear losing control, fear accountability, fear change, and fear the unknown. But most of all, they fear the collective power of a united people with a unity of purpose.
For too long, the status quo has maintained a stranglehold on society, perpetuating inequality, injustice, and oppression. But the protesters refuse to be silenced amid threats and several calls by the power that be to discredit their unrelenting effort to press home their demands. They demand a better future, one where every voice is heard and every citizen is treated with dignity.

As the protests swell, the fears of those in power grow. They fear that their grip on society will be loosened, that their wrongdoing will be exposed, and that the very foundations of their power will be shaken.
But the protesters, on the other hand, are driven by a fierce determination to create a world that is just, equitable, and free. And as they build momentum, their numbers grow, their voices amplify, and their message resonates.
The fears of those in power are well-founded. For when the people rise, nothing can stop them. The question remains, will the unstoppable force of protest not be silenced, will it not be deterred, and will it not be defeated?
