National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives apprehended a 20-year-old hair stylist, Josephine Odunu, and a 30-year-old dispatch rider, Edesemi Ikporo, for their involvement in the sale and distribution of drug-laced chin-chin to school students and social gatherings in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
This was revealed by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, who detailed the agency’s weekly arrests and drug seizures.
According to Babafemi, on Sunday, March 10, 2024, NDLEA officers patrolling the Opolo area of Yenagoa intercepted Edesemi, recovering 200 grams of cannabis-laced chin-chin that he was transporting to a buyer.
A subsequent operation led to the arrest of Josephine, who was found distributing the drugged snacks from the salon where she works in the Kpansia area. The search of the salon uncovered an additional 3.00kg of the illicit substance, bringing the total seized from the pair to 3.2kg.

Investigations revealed that they frequently distributed the cannabis and tramadol-laced chin-chin to students and at birthday parties.
While Edesemi handled the delivery to buyers, Josephine played a significant role as a distributor, particularly to a wanted suspect involved in producing the drugged snacks.
