American rapper and global superstar Nicki Minaj has expressed solidarity with persecuted Christians in Nigeria, calling for compassion, respect, and freedom of worship for all faiths.
In a post on her verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Minaj said she felt “a deep sense of gratitude” for living in a country where people can freely worship God, stressing that no one should ever face violence for their faith.

“No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other,” she wrote.
The award-winning artist also thanked the U.S. President and his team for recognizing the plight of Nigerian Christians who have faced repeated attacks from Islamist extremists in several northern states.
“Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer,” Minaj added.
Minaj’s comments came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump redesignated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” for severe violations of religious freedom — a move that has reignited international debate over the persecution of Christians in the country.
Her post has since drawn widespread reactions from fans, Christian advocacy groups, and Nigerian observers, many of whom praised her for speaking out in support of victims of faith-based violence.
Advocates say her remarks reflect a growing awareness among global figures and celebrities urging world leaders to take stronger action against religious oppression and uphold the universal right to freedom of belief.
