NiDCOM To Investigate Alleged Killing Of Nigerian Student In Philippines

Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has launched an investigation into the alleged assassination of a Nigerian student by Chinese in the Philippines.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Commission’s Head of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.

“The attention of Nigerians in the Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has been drawn to a viral social media news item on the death of a Nigerian student, identified as Ikem, who was allegedly murdered by a group of Chinese in the Republic of the Philippines,” the statement read.

NiDCOM has also requested more information from the “eyewitness” who uploaded the graphic incident on his social media account, even though the situation hasn’t been formally reported to the Nigerian embassy in the Philippines.

The eyewitness, Parallel Facts gathered, was asked to email the Commission at [email protected].

“The Commission will set the machinery in motion to investigate the matter and unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident,” the statement added.
