The South Savannah chapter of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation of Americas (NIDOA) in Georgia has called out Bola Tinubu to put into action his “Renewed Hope Agenda” by seizing every chance to help Nigerians escape poverty.
Tomi Ademokun, vice president of NIDOA South Savannah, made the request in an interview while attending the 63rd anniversary of Nigeria’s independence in New York.
“This is a call to action to continue to celebrate our great country; raise up your flag today, Independence Day—also, a call to action to Tinubu’s administration for his agenda of hope,” said Ms Ademokun.
Ademokun also added that, “We need to really need to Hope: H-harness, O-opportunities, P-poverty, E- eradication in Nigeria and help lift people out of poverty through sustainable programmes, jobs, and restoring the economy and help to the most vulnerable poor.”
She claimed that NIDOA South Savanna had been doing its part by helping the underprivileged in Nigeria and the student populations in the United States.
“Recently, we partnered with Linkway diplomats and Calvary school, and we gave out seven scholarships totalling 700,000, 100,000 (each) to seven students.
“We have partnered with the Brazilian Development Initiative RADI foundation in southern Kaduna to help internally displaced persons (IDPs), orphans and farmers to make sure that they get agricultural products,” she said.
