Nigerian heavyweight boxer Efe Ajagba secured a split decision triumph over Italy’s Guido Vianello at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, United States, on Sunday.
The closely contested match saw judges scoring it 96-94 (twice) for Ajagba and 94-96 for Vianello, showcasing the intensity of the bout.
Throughout the match, the 29-year-old Ajagba displayed control over the middle ground, yet faced a formidable challenge from Vianello in the final rounds.
Ajagba’s resilience and tactical prowess ultimately secured him the victory, as he effectively countered Vianello’s attempts to seize control.
With this win, Ajagba extends his unbeaten streak to five consecutive bouts, further solidifying his position as a rising star in the heavyweight division.
His professional record now stands at an impressive 20 wins, including 14 knockouts, with only one defeat.
